What is Walk In It, Inc.?
Walk in It Inc. is a 501 c3 nonprofit organization geared towards the empowerment of girls and women. Founded in 2006 by Dr. Jennell Whitfield Riddick, this organization has directly impacted over 12,000 girls and women through its programming.
Mission:
To develop holistically healthy girls and women: academically, emotionally, socially, and physically.
Walk In It has 3 core programs:

Ladies of Distinction (LOD), Raising Excellent Daughters (R.E.D.), and WIT Women.
Ladies of Distinction is the mentor/character education program of Walk In It which serves girls grades 4-12. Multifaceted programming addresses participants' academic, social, emotional, mental, and physical health. LOD started with 16 girls in l school and now serves over 650 girls monthly in 30 schools throughout 3 states and 7 school districts. Data has shown that our participants have higher grades, better behavior, and on-time graduation rates, compared to peers not enrolled in our programming.

Raising Excellent Daughters (R.E.D.) has hosted multiple parenting events and conferences, empowering parents and encouraging healthy parent/-student relationships.

WIT Women provides conferences, retreats, and coaching to help adult women develop professionally, personally, and spiritually.
Walk In It has awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships, won numerous community impact awards, and continues to expand in reach and impact.
Our Founder, Dr. Jennell Whitfield Riddick,
has distinguished herself in the non-profit sector and the faith community.
Dr. Riddick is the author of three books including. Getting It Done Without Becoming Undone.
She also hosts the podcast, Above the Noise, for the busy woman seeking balance. She is passionate about helping people fulfill their maximum potential in the Body of Christ and in the community.
Riddick received her BA from the University of Richmond, a Master of Divinity from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union, and a Doctorate of Ministry from Chicago Theological Seminary in 2018. Dr. Jennell's passion and ministry gifting have afforded her the opportunity to serve in full-time ministry for the past 20 years.
Dr. Riddick is a mentor in the R.E.A.L. Black Women in Ministry Thrive Initiative and serves as a Program Advisor for the Doctor of Ministry Program at Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri. In April 2023 Dr. Jennell was inducted into the Martin Luther King Jr. Board of Preachers at Morehouse College.
Dr. Jennell is happily married to Rev.
Dr. Dwight S. Riddick II, Pastor of Gethsemane Baptist Church in Newport News.
She is the proud mother of Dwight Ill and Jasmine
